Buffy
the Vampire Slayer R.I.P.
by K. Hoffman
Well there is finally proof of what we had all known for
quite some time now. The hit TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer
will not be returning to TV next Fall.
Sarah Michelle Gellar had announced her decision not to renew
her contract in an interview in the March 7th issue of Entertainment
Weekly.
There is nothing confirmed as to the end of the series or
possible spin-offs, but the rumor mill is turning. Some of
the more recent rumors include and final Angel/Buffy crossover
with WB/UPN and a Faith spin-off. Neither of which can be
confirmed.
Sarah Michelle Gellar said she wanted the show to end on
a good note [and I must say this season has been pretty good...good
enough for me to actually miss it in next years line up].
And she will continue with the film career...if you can call
the Scooby Doo films a film career. Most fans wish that the
Scooby films would simply fade away. And perhaps, Gellar,
herself cannot quite give up the Buffy ghost since there are
still connections to Buffy in doing Scooby [ after all the
Buffy's friends referred to themselves as the Scooby Gang
and Daphne has a bit of the Slayer in her character....which
I don't remember from the cartoons.]
Well at least the slayer will live on in the hearts of fans
across the globe and on DVD. Just wish FOX could get them
out a little faster!
