The Blu-ray version of [amazon_link id=”B003ZSJ212″ target=”_blank” ]Star Wars The Complete Saga[/amazon_link] that is.
Like a million other fans I have been waiting for Star Wars to get the blu-ray treatment and like a million other fans I am sadly disappointed.
When I first reported that Star Wars would be available this month on blu-ray I had no idea that it was yet another attempt for George Lucas to ruin the films further. That’s right, this is another special edition fiasco. Not only aren’t the original theatric releases included in this set, he has managed to make a mess of them further with more added cgi and less than perfect fixes for this hi-def format. (Check out the reviews on [amazon_link id=”B003ZSJ212″ target=”_blank” ]Amazon.com[/amazon_link] — not good at all. The more I read the happier I am that I did not pre-order these and now I don’t feel like I have to run to the store and buy the set this weekend either. I would like to see the changes first hand, but I am not buying it — NO WAY!) So I will be sticking with my DVDs for now. Apparently even the extras on this set aren’t anything to write home about. Sad. We waited so long to only be handed a big screw you from Lucas.
Let me just say that HAN SHOOTS FIRST (and what he is shooting should be this blu-ray set), being frozen in carbonite is too good for this mess.
Tell Lucas you won’t stand for his messing around with the films any more simply by not buying this set.
