The Day is a 24 hour look into the lives of five people in a post apocalyptic world of war and cannibalism (not zombies — might have been better if it were zombies). The story seems to be missing something from the very beginning (perhaps there should have been a voice over or quick text to catch the viewer up on events instead of dropping us ignorant right into the middle of the story).
Visually the film is kind of dreary — muted colors almost black and white but not quite. There is heavy use of a high speed camera which adds odd jerky motions to the action scenes, but is kind of cool when used on the blood splatter (I have never been a fan of high speed cameras not even in sports).
